Agreement - Duress
You entered into the agreement under duress because you were under psychological pressure where you were forced or threatened to act and had no reasonable alternative to prevent the threatened loss. The duress could have been physical, where you were threatened with injury or having your property withheld, or economic, where you were threatened with damage to your finances or property.
Example
- The Plaintiff asked you to enter into an agreement for a loan, but you refused. The Plaintiff then told you that they would physically harm you if you did not enter into the agreement. You entered into the agreement because you thought it was the only way to avoid getting harmed.
- You were employed by the Plaintiff, and they asked you to enter into an agreement for a loan. You did not want to borrow the money, but the Plaintiff told you that if you refused, you would be fired. You entered into the agreement because you thought it was the only way to avoid losing your job.

Acuerdo - Coacción
Usted entró en el acuerdo bajo coacción porque estaba bajo presión psicológica, donde lo forzaron o amenazaron a actuar y no tenía una alternativa razonable para evitar la pérdida amenazada. - Usted trabajaba para el Demandante y le pidieron entrar en un acuerdo de préstamo. Usted no quería pedir prestado dinero, pero el Demandante le dijo que si se negaba, lo despedirían. Usted entró en el acuerdo porque creía que era la única forma de evitar perder su trabajo.
